Hello Music Lovers.

This year will be my first Telluride Fest!  I actually drove to Telluride for the first time ever last year, after Rockygrass, just to check out the scene.  I stayed 2 nights in an Airbnb and as it turned out, that Airbnb was a 10 minute walk to the Telluride stage, so that's where I am staying this year.

I will be coming from Connecticut too.

So what should I expect for weather at the festival?  How cold can it get at night there?

Any comments would surely be appreciated.

Howdy,

Typical weather this time of year is high 70s/low 80s during the day and down to the 30s/40s at night.  Rain can happen at any time and snow is not unheard of at night.

80 may not seem that warm but at altitude in the sun, you can definitely roast.

Plan on anything. Have lots of warm layers for night time. Plan on RAIN ( if you do it won’t) Hot, yes in Telluride 80 is HOT. When you head in to the festival make sure that you pack the layers with you so you can flex with the time of day, or the storm that just blew in. I have to say, for the most part with the 7 fests that I have attended, the weather has been very good. The key is to plan and prepare for anything! Hey one year it hailed during Rumbaaaaaaaaaaalllllllssssss! Then20 minutes later the sun was shining!

12 years of weather...
Sunny and perfect
Sunny and warm
Sunny and cold
Rain
Rain and gropple
Freezing rain
Rain and snow
Snow

... that was all in one day, 2011.

Be prepared for anything. Have it in your backpack. Have your backpack with you.

I am hoping accuweather's prediction holds up, mid-70s and sunny! I will still have my rain gear, to make sure it doesn't rain though!

Came back from Durango yesterday to well over a foot in Ophir.  My neighbors had skinned up and got in a run.

Ironically, I had my snow tires swapped out ... and was getting concerned while reading twitter feeds of Lizard Head and other road closures while waiting at tire place, but snow melted pretty quick on the roads.

huh When will it end?!?????  This is definitely NOT helping with my seasonal affective disorder!
