I wanted to get folks opinions on having a pop-up/shade tent/EZ Up in the camp grounds (specifically Lawson Hill) in addition to our camping tent. It would be great to have a bit of shade near our tent but we also want to be respectful of not taking up too much space. Thoughts? Opinions?

I can't speak for Lawson because I've not camped there but we always have an EZ-up at Town Park - can be a nice respite from the rain/sun!

Christian -- you can have one, but just bring some weights for it to hold it down, as winds can get high. I camp in Lawson every year and see lot's of people with 10x10 canopy tents over the top or adjacent to their tents. Lawson is open & exposed to the sun all day, so it's prefect to have that escape from the sun.

I've witnessed EZUps and tents flying high above Lawson  Abduct
Clicking your heels won't help once theres lift off
If in doubt stake it out and if you can't tie knots just tie lots or it will fly
