If you're an action figure like me or you're in need of some camping gear, action wear clothing, or equipment for outdoors activities, I would recommend going to
The Gearage in downtown FoCo. The Gearage is a consignment store and most of their inventory is used equipment in good condition. They're my local outfitter and I go there all the time. You never know what you might find there. People are consigning more stuff there all the time. You can always kick the tires and try stuff out there. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. It's a great place to purchase gear inexpensively and experiment with it.
I use a lot of outdoors gear and active wear in a variety of outdoors activities. I've tried out a lot of stuff. Much of the time I am crossover-using outdoors gear for other purposes - like wearing a ski helmet and goggles while I'm out on winter bike rides, etc. Most prices on goods at The Gearage are much lower than MSRP. Return policy is 24 hours. After that, if you want to get rid of it, you can consign it there and they'll sell it for you. Or, you can consign your other gear there if you want to unload it. The Gearage also has equipment rentals for bicycles, paddle boards, etc. (Tell them Monte sent you there from the Festivarian board. They'll laugh out loud.)
"The Gearage is your local source for quality used outdoor gear and clothing in Fort Collins, CO. We offer affordable prices as well as a marketplace for people to pass along gear they no longer need. We are also a premiere Bike Shop.
It is our philosophy that we should tread lightly on the environment. Reusing equipment, Reducing the need for more production. And Recycling gear back into the hand of the community.
Purchasing outdoor gear/clothing should not break the bank. The average outdoor recreationalist does not always need the latest and greatest gear and many prefer to purchase pre-owned clothing and equipment. That is what we are about."
(Also note that recently
Brave New Wheel bicycle shop moved their old Myrtle Street shop to a new old town location on Olive Street, and I also recommend them. I have been going to The Gearage, and Brave New Wheel, for more than 10 years.)
