Hi all,
I am from Germany and will be in Rocky Grass for the first time this summer.
After I bought my own tickets a friend decided to come but unfortunately by the time she could confirm her holiday dates with her employer today the three-day-passes have sold out.
As I know we can give back any tickets until late March we now bought day passes for Friday and Sunday, but as of now she would miss out on Saturday.

I have seen the ticket exchange section here (and posted a request) and the resale section on Planet Bluegrass but have no experience how to go about it.

So here are my questions:
Is there even a chance of acquiring a three-day-pass or a Saturday pass on either source?

Where would you see better chances?

How does Bluegrass handle returned tickets? Do they have a waiting list? Or do I just have to look regularly into their resale section and hope to be lucky?

The tickets I have bought don't seem to be personalized. But the carry a number which supposedly unique and can be matched to the original buyer. Can there be problems with tickets bought on this forum and used for a different person than the original buyer?

Do you see any chances to get a ticket on site? We will probably not be at the festival grounds before Thursday evening.

I would normally not be too nervous about this but the planning of the whole trip depends on whether we can get the missing ticket or not, including booking our flights which we would like to do soon for obvious reasons.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Hello,
Yes, you will find many opportunities to acquire a three-day or a Saturday prior to the festival.
If you check back on the resale section of this website in mid-March, I think on Tuesdays around 9 or 10am, that's your best bet for the resale.
On the buy/sell forum, you'll find 3 day passes and Saturday passes from now until the festival. Probably will be very slow for the next few months, but don't worry, your friend will get in. If you are having trouble with the ticket as we get closer to festival time, post again, and I'll help you out.
You should absolutely book your flights.
See you in July.

I assume by "this website" you mean the official PB site?
I understand mid-March because that is when the deadline for giving back tickets will be.
But why Tuesdays and at this specific time? Btw do you mean Denver time?

Yes, resale tickets will show up at the Planet Bluegrass website in the ticket section on Tuesdays between 10:00AM and Noon Colorado time.
Since tickets can be returned anytime before the deadline there may be tickets available in the weeks ahead of that deadline up to a week or so after the deadline.

Hey Tom, another newbie here.

How does the returned ticket resale work? I keep checking the site (https://shop.bluegrass.com/returned-ticket-resale) on Tuesdays during that time, but haven't seen anything but a message "there are no products matching the selection". Am I not looking in the right place? or have they not gone on sale yet? Thanks in advance!!

It could be that there have not been any returns in the week you look, or they have already been sold.
Hard to say...
Keep checking.  Thumbs Up

I saw something about there being a “box office” at PB, will there be tickets available during/the morning of the festival? Or is scoring them on the resale/forum the only chance to get tickets this late?

Definitely won't be anything for sale at the box office during the festival. Resale or through this forum are you best bets.
