Hi ya,

Your rental company should give you a map. If you follow the basic route, you will see great scenary and have an enjoyable drive.

I 70 WEST to Grand Junction, Drop South on highway 50 towards Montrose, join

the 50/550 to Ridgeway and then turning on to highway 62 and finally, highway

145, follow signs to Telluride. If that don't work, find / Follow Festivarians to

Telluride. You will know the vehicles! If you don't get lost and don't dwaddle too

much (there are a lot of fried chicken stands all the way there) you'll make it in

about 7-8 hours!

PS. Drive speed limit through small towns, particularly closer to Telluride

Safe travels!

It depends on traffic what is fastest.  The way describef above is reliable.  Another alternative that is about 30-40 miles shorter, more scenic, but about the same amount of time in most conditions is to take Hwy 285 from SW Denver up through S Park to Buena Vista and then go south to Salida and hit US 50.  Take that west to Montrose and follow the rest of the istructions above.

If you are driving in the dark though, the interstate to GJ may be more comfortable for drivers not used to mountain driving.
