If you're not in an approved spot to smoke don't light it we're on an unofficial announcement that the BLM fire will be present in the campgrounds making sure we are following the rules or it can cost us our bands so be wise and heed the counsel

Smoke only in designated areas and have a safe Festival

Being "FireWise" is a good thing.

 Good job last year  :hug

So how's the forecast this year?
Will there be designated areas again?
Not sure how this went over for everyone but I was very pleased to see how well everyone caught on around our side of the camp...yea theres always a few rebels.. no names  :burn and some oppositions ar first but everyone seemed to be aware and mindful.
Not to mention - The jam sessions that broke out were most impressive... who knew musicians smoked so much  Tapers Pipe

I seriously hope not.  One of the stations was set up right next to our normal campsite last year and between the constant smoke and loud talking/yelling into all hours of the night, I was not really happy about the new setup.  I understand that they were necessary last year and we were part of the unlucky few who were stationed next to them but I'd really prefer that things go back to 'normal' this year.

Luckily snowpack has been great this year and there are currently no fire bans West of the plains.

There's currently snow very near one of former said "designated areas":

Wow FOM - that's crazy.  We camp directly to the right of this.  Being the local that you are, is this pretty unusual for this time of the year?

Yes, snow pack reached somewhere in the neighborhood of 150% of average and it's been persistently cold throughout the spring.   Here's another one looking the other way (both taken on Monday):

Oh thought some of you might like them  Cheers

Yeah, they just put asphalt down yesterday ... it's weird to think it was a giant hole last year!

View from the BIT porch is not what it once was.

Well, luckily we can get stuff to go from BIT.
Sucks about that beautiful porch view being gone.
