stupid question...we are arriving friday evening....before the planet bluegrass takeover saturday morning.  Can we camp in townpark proper?  Do we have to buy a permit somewhere or can we just set up shop?  Or do we have to be special pre-festivarians to get in on teh action?  What exactly happens in the land rush saturday morning?

Currently all the campgrounds in Town Park are sold out, but if you get there after the office closes Friday you can find a spot to set up until the land rush.

Saturday morning at 8:00 the staff will open the preserve.

All of the veteran camps will rush in to claim their spots and it will be a laid back walkabout by all the others to find a good spot. Cheers

I know what has happened in the past
I would suggest if you havnt been there in the past
to show up after 8 30 am for a fairly easy LOAD IN
with new friends helping you find your way

Butterfly   HELLO!!!!  Okay so let me see if I got it right..Planet Bluegrass will take over, and veterans rush in at 8 am. So then it is safe to say around 830 or so is good for nubies to show and move in? We will be driving over from Idaho Springs in the dark of night.

Still cannot decide  huh where to camp--we've been to Town Park before so know the lay of the land--but go back and forth between setting up camp near the festival grounds or back by the river.

Footnote- a small group of us are coming down and hooking up with friends who are festival veterans and we were just commenting on the positive vibration surrounding this--thank you so much for that!! Thumbs Up

Thanks for the 411--we have town park passes---just trying to decide on the best strategy in the am, i.e. timing, location etc...
