Mountain Village Parking

Greetings!

We are attending TBF for the first time and will need to park in Mountain Village as we can. How far is it to the festival grounds? Is it a reasonable walk? What advice do you have to get us there early?

You can't walk to the festival from Mountain Village,  you'll take the gondola with all the other festivarians. It's really easy and fun. Lines can be long during the peak times so plan ahead. It runs till 2am I believe.

Welcome to TBF!!

As Mountaingoat stated, from Mountain Village you will take the free gondola from Mountain Village Core over the mountain and down into Telluride.  Its a 12-13 minute ride.  There is a shorter gondola (5-6 minutes?) that goes from the Mountain Village parking garage to Mountain Village Core.  As was said, lines can get long during peak times, but they do move pretty quickly.

Its about a 15 minute walk from the Telluride Gondola station to the Festival Grounds entrance.

We've stayed in several Mountain Village condos over the years for TBF and would allot an hour to get from the condo to being settled in and situated at the festival.

As for advice on getting there early .. unless you plan on participating in the lotteried Tarp Run (separate threads), there is really no need to get to the grounds 'early'.  If you arrive before the festival opens for that day, you will be standing in line until the 'gates' open; which is fine because all of the folks around you will be awesome festivarians.
