There is a good reason they move dancers up front for Half Time shows. Because a Fest and Music  is not an observation but an experience. Medal

The view of the stage is better farther back Dancer should be in the poser pit Medal Ew good idea and everyone seated should be pushed back a notch. I got this. LOL

You've got me vote LS, but have learned a while ago the poser pit is "sacred" around these parts; or, it's simply an accepted part of the "traditional hierarchy".   Nonetheless, I definitely prefer it over what could easily be a (pay for) VIP situation.

I guess I'm an "egalitarian idealist" at heart, but at the same time understand the reality of human nature.   As much as people dancing up front might truly help the "energy/connection" with the band/audience, many will invariably park themselves up front to stand and not dance.   And I get this, since a long time ago I would never dance and people nearby would sometims ask me to "at least bop my head" or do a "windshield wipe" with their hand in front of my eyes.

Rollin Rollin Rollin Rollin Rollin Sunshine I do enjoy your colorful writing So very funny FOM!  Welp music is infectious and at time even the most subdued can squeal and shake. Primal blame me its all me. Take me out like James Brown..glad you dance, don't stop!

The poser pit is an easy way for PBG to host guests however they should have THE best view IMO and a notch back with some good dust control and paths to BBQ etc is possible. Dance is infectious and it has a way of letting other people know they are safe to let goo. Fabulous vibe sets the mood to festivate and relate.

VIP yeah getting older and slidng n and slippin out sounds good to me. Gotta say. I am all up for easy these days. Savin myself for Golf. LOL

Lets meet you are such a good writer beer booth at 4 on Thursday forum!

Thanks LS, you also use words well Flower  While writing somehow comes easy to me, truth be told I'm a low talker who mumbles a lot in real life ... but would be happy to at the very least least mumble "hello" to you in person!  I'll stop by beer booth on Thurs.

I can't remember if it's The Ride or Blues & Brews, but one of them has a small platform / 2-row bank of low profile bleachers setup to the right of the SBD.  I believe it's ADA, but might also be some sort of VIP.  I can see this sort of setup also working well for a possible poser pit re-location.

But yeah, have noticed how dancing is often infectious.  Also have issues with back and getting older, but always remember that "I'm still walkin', so I'm sure that I can dance".

One of the very best things FOM is we are part of a tribe. We look at the same smiles for many years and we all are going down the same road. Older yes but that is ok as long as you have an umbrella and a high back. LOL! And a bubble bath and a taxi LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL

I suppose we're both preaching to the choir, LS!   That's one of the great things about music / festival ... it allows the spirit to be young and soar, even if our bodies don't always cooperate!

It is ADA. All I've seen though is a platform, not bleachers. LAst year I was at all 3, TBF, Ride, and BnB BnB is a different set up with VIP area on the town park side with a fence that runs up almost to the stage, so that whole area is off limits unless you have VIP. They have nice tents too with comfy couches and chairs, so it's cool in the day and warm at night. I love it in there.

CL, I'm sure you're right about it just being a platform with chairs on it, I just remembered there being something above ground level that was difficult to see above.  Likewise about it being ADA, but I'm sure it could dual purpose if poser pit relocation was under consideration.   Not sure I like the pie wedge config of the other festivals from a GA perspective ... since it "pens in" the GA crowd a bit more, but the upside is being able to walk right up to the stage.

I recall there being a bit of a "void" (of people) directly behind the platform (since you can't view stage if sitting on a tarp) - akin to behind the SBD tower where people dance ... so it'd be interesting to see how the dynamics would shake out at TBF if an ADA/poser pit platform were placed directly in front of the SBD; and also fanned out laterally on each side of the SBD a little bit?  I imagine it'd open up more space for people to dance / wander behind the platform ... since savvy tarper's would avoid getting too close.  I imagine those who didn't know or care would setup shop in "shadow" of platform, but PB could always white line space for people to egress / stand / dance like things are currently setup behind SBD and up front on sides - it'd just be bigger.

Oh shut up and dance FOM! :burn LOL LOL LOL

I have always wanted Ferg to sit next to me on my tarp because you get a different perspective. I always llike to ask folks who play or have some sort of function in the music industry when was the last time you yourself went to a Fest?

As the years go by the Poser Pit has more dancers it would be great to mix it up and take the gate down. To really host a great listen I do believe a lifted poser pit, vip. Shade for us could be a good good thing. LOL Can we make it look like a shrub? LOL

The poser pit is just fine where it is. The dance floor behind the sound tower is just fine. In front of the soundboard is where the tapers go. It's worked just fine for many years like that, no reason to go mucking it up now. There is plenty of shade out by the kids' pond, the river, the ice rink, etc.  It IS festival grounds. People bring shade tents if that is what they want. Once you get even with the soundboard there are no pathways, so it is pick a line and go for it. Kinda like skiing through the trees. Sometimes people make it, sometimes they crash into a chair or cooler, but it's all good. Although, the air quality may not be too good with the fires still burning and if the wind shifts and carries it over into the San Miguel Valley it could get pretty gnarly. I just hope people with breathing issues will have their canisters of O2 or particle masks, and that the cigarette smokers will carry a portable ashtray with them and remember to not smoke from the soundboard up.  I also hope they will bring a water truck in several times a day to keep the dust down. That dust did a number on me 2 years ago because not once did they water down the roads while I was there. I realize water is scarce, but the dust can be awful and people STILL throw lit cigarette butts on the ground and never check to see if it's out.
