Anyone here notice that Gibson declared bankruptcy the other day. They have been a festival sponsor.   Flyer

Yeah, saw that ... makes me wonder about finally moving forward with getting a new genuine ES 339 while they're available.

^ Perhaps he can be convinced to pick up a banjo again and make a visit to Telluride?

An ES 339 would be a good investment. It would sound good on the TBF stage. Cheers

I did see that and I think they are going to rebuild the company. Read that somewhere.

yeah, figured they try to re-emerge somehow

If for some reason they don't, I'm sure one will always be able to get a Gibson second hand

I hope they can keep it going, I'd love to have a Hummingbird someday. My father-in law has his fathers 1950's Gibson, and a recently produced Hummingbird, both are super cool guitars. My current guitar is a Taylor factory custom but those big Gibsons have a real special sound.

How come they don't turn the banjo up?

I just inherited my grandfather's Advanced Jumbo.  It's a late 90s model and is a monster.  Puts my Martin HD28 to shame.
