I know that Warner Field opens at 9am Wednesday, but I am wondering what time people will actually start getting in line for a spot in Warner? I'm trying to figure just how early I need to get there to make sure I have space for the couple tents we'll be putting up. Thanks for any info as this is our first time staying at Warner Field.

That's the plan. Probably 4 more breweries have opened in my area since last year, so there are lots to share.

I'm just trying to figure out how early people start lining up for a spot. I'm hoping I don't need to spend the night in line.

We're doing the same as you. I'm good with getting up early, but want to save my nights sleeping out for tarp run.

It's been a while since I stayed at Warner, but I remember getting there early Wednesday and are relatively long line had formed. I would think if you get there Wednesday morning, you will be OK. I'm arriving Wednesday afternoon and admit I'm a little nervous about not having enough space. Although I think it's an anxiety we all have. One thing that can be counted on is your neighbors will be friendly and accommodating.

Camp HulaGanz 4 Life! :)

I've volunteered at the vehicle gate during Warner land rush over the last few years. Cars will line up along the designated shoulder permit parking along Colorado Ave. (Main St.) around 7:00am that Wednesday morning. They will line up single file from the Maple St. uphill on Colorado towards the waterfalls. Last year, cars were stopped on the road...no bueno for locals trying to get into town that live up valley. Park in a designated permit parking spot!

The actual landrush is on foot starting near the right field fence by the customs pop-up. Instructions from last year's load procedure is on the PB website:

http://www.bluegrass.com/telluride/TBF17-WarnerField-CampgroundLoadIn.pdf

At 9am, PB staff/volunteers will begin admitting 10-15 cars across the vehicle bridge to unload next to Warner Field will a fixed time to unload your vehicle. Unload and then move your car to the designated parking area, possibly on Main St. but could already be Carhenge (vehicle gate staff in a lime-colored safety vest will direct you when you exit the park by the bridge). As cars come out, they let new ones in...all in the same order as they were staged outside the park.

A tip is to have someone in your crew do the tarp run from the walk-in line and others waiting in the car to drive in and if at all possible, get wristbanded on Tuesday before the Box Office closes at 6pm. That way you can drive in and start unloading right after your tarp drop and skip the Box Office walk. It's not a big deal, once you tarp is dropped, you've got your grassy real estate to festivate.

Good luck, let's not pull a hammy out there.  Wink

Paul

OK

This is where it gets interesting,  I have been the past 3 years to Warner,  usually get there at 7AM, have tarp and my chair.  People are fun and friendly, we combine runs to the Telluride Bakery, coffee and the such.

2017 , I had a pretty nice spot on the fence waiting, maybe 20 ish chairs in front of me,  then at 9 am, WOW<  like 100 people crammed in front of me, heading in the gate.

Where did all these folks come from ????

I wish they would give a number to cut that out and reward the people sitting, chatting and being very social.

Just frustrating.

We've camped in Warner the past 4 years and are usually in line around 7:30. Plenty of space for everyone and unless you're really gunning for a primo spot, you'd be able to show up anytime mid-morning and be fine (from our experience). See you at camp!
