I plan to bring my bike. I have heard that can come in handy. Is that true? And, is there adequate space to park my bike after I ride from Lawson Hill to the main stage area?
We brought bikes last year, and plan on bringing again. The ride from Lawson to Town Park is smooth and easy, no more than 15 minutes at a leisurely pace. Plus there are a ton of MTN bike trails accessible from all around the valley! Plenty of bike locking options in town, Telluride is a very bike friendly town.

I have another question that I keep forgetting to ask... If you are not allowed to drive in to the town of Telluride, how do you go about dropping off your camping stuff to get it set up? I am camping in Lawson Hill and if I have to carry all of my stuff from my car to the camping area and it is any sort of distance, I will be rearranging the way I transport everything.

Lawson Hill campground is outside the barricade. You'll still have to carry your stuff onto the ball field where the camping is located. Haven't camped there so couldn't tell you exactly how far you have to walk from car to site.

Unless things have changed in the past six years, there is a parking lot that is very close to the baseball field. It was not difficult to get everything from car to site. Maybe 50 yards. Could be less.

T-ride welcomes Riders and has racks all over town.
It makes fetching Things From the Bottle Shop so much easier Cheers

I've ridden  from "Awesome Hill" Many times! Haven't camp there in years..however we still will take a ride down and visit friends for some Lawson fun oh and Cindy bread...

definitely bring a nice backpack for carrying goods and a lock would be nice although I have never locked mine i advise you to bring a lock...    i can be a little too trusting and mines worth just a little more than a huffy since I've added Spokey dokes and tassels I'm probably going to have to lock it up.

Goodluck and festival!! Wave

Wave Please even though you have great headphones for your baby, it is still unkind to place them so close their organs are bouncing around.  Cheers

in the things I had wish I'd known (or knew and tried to disbelieve)

-you need to be in your change of clothes before the sun goes down...
-if you have a particular size, get in line for the merch on thurs the instant after you set your tarp down
-drink water....no, drink more....drink more still...
-the corner house grill has a great patio in the shade
-the atm in the festival has the loooooooooooooongest lines.....get $ before
-if staying for all 4 days (and how many of you have been here all 4 days???) there are often great deals in the clothing tents Sun afternoon/night
-drink more water
-free water inside is better than bottled
-the corn dogs are that good, as Allison Krause can attest
-the farmers market on Friday is worth while
-you're still not drinking enough water

Well said!

The one thing that I wish I would have known, other than how cold it would be, was that it would so change my life that 30 years later I'm getting ready for number 31 and who knows how many more.

Festivirgin here, Can someone explain how the Lawson Hill camp site works? So I gather one pass for $65 is just for one person, but is that for just one night or do you have one pass for each night? The transportation seems easy enough, but any tips would be appreciated.

Is there a shower truck set up at Lawson Hill?  If not, I've got a camping shower I could bring - is that frowned upon (or even allowed)?  It's just one of those simple tall tents with a solar bag.

Lawson Hill is at Society Turn which is 3 miles west of the town of Telluride. Your car won't even need to come into town.  Also keep in mind that all dispensaries accept CASH ONLY. CASH is preferred, so set your budget for the day and take that with you for food and beverages. If you find something you can't live without, credit cards are good but not all vendors take them. The official merch tent does take cc.
