I am such a newbie to TBF (year 6 for me upcoming). I am extremely private about my political leanings; you can confirm with my wife and children that I do not talk about who I voted for in any election. With that said, in 2016, I publicly noted I could not nor did not vote for Trump. In truth more on the moral side than on the issue side.

So what does this have to do with Mars most gentle and well considered post?

To me, I think my response is more eloquently articulated in this Bela and Abbie interview with BGS (you must get their alerts): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NGjGxt5IoJc

If you want to cut to the chase, FF to around to around the 9-10 minute mark. But seriously, these two TBF angels (can anyone forget Juno's Sunday morning worm across the stage last year), have such a grounded music and political balance that is healthy to us all.

Let's pray (if your bent), or at least send our blessings and well wishes to Bela, Abbie, and Juno for the well being and healthy bringing into this crazy world a 'banjo quartet' addition!

SEE Y'ALL IN JUNE.

Liberty is something of great value and we must always be vigilant to protect.

Was blessed to see this amazing bird yesterday about 20 yards past the crosswalk near the Shell station when I was driving into town.  Slowed to almost a stop and somehow was able to take some pics.   Have heard they're big and one needs to give them room when in a car, but never realized just HOW BIG they are!!!  Waved to the person in the Mercedes SUV behind me and could see her waiving back with a similar joy (you just gotta poke around).

And from your car too  Thumbs Up

Had a little heads up ... since as I was approaching the Shell station, I saw an adult and child run across the crosswalk to the north side of the highway, leaving behind a child near their car parked by the Shell.  So, naturally slowed down to a lot (5mph) figuring the "stranded" kid was going to cross too ... but she stuck by the car, and that's when I noticed the eagle being the thing the first two had crossed the hwy to get a closer look at.  So, was already crawling along and had a chance to take out my phone and snap a few.

Very Cool! One of the deciding factors in pulling the trigger to buy our land, was the first day I went to look at it there was an Eagle perched in the tree above the gate. I immediately told myself "this is it"!

Well the chickens just got all quiet so i walk out to see and I looked up and perched in my tree was sitting a very large red tail  I saw him swoop down and grab a field critter and fly off I was instantly reminded of these shots you took... Well done again glad you were prepared and ready... unfortunately I did not have my camera or phone near me  ( even then I probably couldn't have captured what you have kudos)

Nice!  The actual memory is definitely more poignant for me vs. pictures and is still very surreal when I play it back in my mind.   So even though you didn't capture the hawk on an "external device", I'm sure you'll always have access to a much more vivid representation of the event you witnessed in your own mind!

You got it Thumbs Up for years I lugged 13lbs+ of body's batteries and lenses for a pair of d100s and a d300 but after piles and stacks and year after year of memory cards (& a few undeveloped rolls)full I realize that even though I enjoy capturing the moment to share...you are right, I did experience them... and they are still as vivid. (Still a shutterbug at heart so I'll adapt to a simpler format soon)

Oh hell no! I would not participate, and if they want to even TRY to come into town to shut down the dispensaries and piss off a bunch of old tripping hippies they will have the fight of their life! If something like that was going to happen in Tride DURING the same week as festival, I'd sell my ticket and never look back, or go back. Fuck politicians. The very idea or mention of them doesn't belong in this forum. This pisses me off that it's even here.

The eagle pics are cool though, and yes they are HUGE! I have eagles in the field across from my house.
I see them just about every day.
