In the past has there ever been a nightgrass band that didn't play the main stage?

The one that I know of is Fruition.  I think it was 2016?

Good call on Fruition. It was 2015, they played a nightgrass show at the Elks Lodge and the power kept cutting out right in the middle of songs. They also did a set at Elks Park that year but no main stage.

I feel like there was another one in like 07 or 08 maybe? I don't even remember who it was though.

Pert Near had a Nightgrass show one year with no mainstage  slot.

I believe that we will have another band playing nightgrass this year that isn't on mainstage. The opening act in the last three shows that I have attended, from Minneapolis, The Last Revel. Maybe opening up for The Stringdusters. Also seeing that the new album by Horseshoes & Hand Grenades The Ode is opening at number three on the Billboard Bluegrass chart. Good seeing local bands doing well. Back to tapping my maple trees.

I'm also wondering if the musical guests for Live From Here will be artists who are on the TBF line-up or might they be additional artists to the line-up. Thus giving opportunity for nightgrass acts that aren't billed for the main stage by PB. I'm really digging the current project of Danny Barnes and Jeff Sipe!

How come they don't turn the banjo up?

+1, not sure the impact will be clear on the big stage but at Sheridan it would be powerful.

Tell you one band that might be a lot of fun to see in a small venue, St. Paul & the Broken Bones.

Fruition has a nice gap in mid to late June in their tour. Hmmm.

Their last gig before that break is in CO as well. Unofficial Nightgrass maybe?

Dan Rodriguez of Elephant Revival should be touring with them too.

The Smokies only have one date in June, and I was pretty sure they were going to be in Telluride. Maybe they just wanted to make me sweat it.
