But, it's not really a band... but a show ....

And we are real excited that tomorrow will be nationwide announcement of a live radio show at Telluride, beamed world wide...

And, who best to tell the tale, perhaps one who first came to the festival as a child?  Grew up, attending every year?  Now stands squarely as one of the most respected artists of any generation?  Who best than one who considers Telluride one of the three holidays with Thanksgiving and Christmas?

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, the show formerly known as Prairie Home Companion, renamed yesterday as "Live from Here with Chris Thile", is coming to town.

When the idea first came up, the thought was doing a world-wide radio show in the elements might best be done at the Palm.  Wind, rain and just plain "outdoors" risk seemed to many on both Minnesota Public Radio team and Planet Bluegrass team as a bit risky to bring the Telluride Bluegrass Festival to the world.

In hearing that, Chris said, "oh, no, no, no..... we're doing this on the mainstage".  And, THAT was certainly the end of the discussion.

And what a musical tale will be told to the world....

(P.S. Special shout out to Yonder for slipping to a different spot (oops, that's two give aways) so that this show could be heard live at it's regularly scheduled time)

Wow world wide. That is huge Ferg. I do  hope the weather holds out but then again it is part of the experience.

I always have enjoyed the complexities of Chris.

And yet another first. Amazing. Flower

Ahh--this just made my day/week/year! This is sure to be a great show and cannot wait for it. If you haven't watched last week's show with Jeff Tweedy, Punch Brothers, and Sarah Jaraoz, I suggest finding it on YouTube. They had so much fun and you could just tell from the constant smiles and laughs.

Now we know why Ferg was listening to Prairie Home Companion in his teaser post from a few days ago.  Thumbs Up

This should be really good. Not so worried about rain falling but during this 4:20 Saturday time slot as seems to rain marshmallows every year. While this might make the Minnesota Public Radio folks feel like they are back home in a snow storm it's going to sound strange to our world wide audience. So maybe we should have a marshmallow free Saturday afternoon? Flower

Yes, please!

Have they invented marshmallow detectors yet?
No glass, alcohol, or marshmallows allowed.

I feel like the marshmallow thing is more a Yonder thing than a 420 thing. Hopefully the world will get to hear how amazing all of us festivarians are.  Cheers    I am so incredibly excited for this! This show is going to be amazing!! Thank you planet bluegrass and Minnesota public radio for making this happen!!

Fat chance with the marshmallows. Clarks would lose a ton of money. Tis why, when i am lucky enough to get a pit pass, i wear a big hat for Yonder. One of the funnier things I saw last year was, i think it was dave johnson’s son, about 6, picking the marshmallows up and whipping them back at the crowd.
Also, i notice lately they have been hitting me more than usual. my guess is that the folks in TP know me now.
