Overshadowed by the death of Tom Petty, another TP, Tom Paley, passed away last week. Paley was a banjo player and a founding member of a group called the New Lost City Ramblers, active in the late 50's and early 60's. This was one of the early bands that helped bring "bluegrass" into the mainstream. He was associated with folks like Jerry Garcia and Ry Cooder. He left the US in the 60's and moved to Europe, because of the Vietnam war and his refusal to testify before the House Un-American Activities Committee. The Times obit is here, if you can view it. If not, there are many stories about him on the internet. https://www.nytimes.com/2017/10/02/obituaries/tom-paley-dead.html

And this song is for all the gents and ladies that bring you the crunchy frog. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jdTNkoe7mes
