The Wildflower Pavilion is so packrd, even overflowing for the finals. People grab chairs from the picnic tables, and if you leave there is just no getting back in. Sure there is a lot of energy, but this is the show to see. Why not share it with the rest and put it on the main stage?

Could not agree more - and the chairs should be out for the first round, as well.

That would be great as far as space is concerned, but it definitely wouldn't be as intimate as the pavilion.

That being said, any of the top three band contestants this year would be better than some of the main stage acts on Saturday (Jerry Douglas/Edgar Meyer, for example). Thumbs Up

Totally in agreement.    The band comp is busting out both doors and should be on the main stage.  With that many people in the room I guess "intimate" is a good description :D  Packed like sardines would be a better description.

Also, channeling what the other gentleman said, what was the deal with the Douglas/Meyer show on Saturday night?   I'm sure their special guest is a very nice woman but she definitely wasn't bluegrass and she was not a headliner and she sang for at least an hour.  Is this the best Rockygrass can do for prime time on Saturday night?  I would have rather heard any of the 3 bands in the competition.  What a snoozefest THAT set was!

Finals used to be on the main stage on Sunday am. It lacked energy and was kind of...meh.
