we spent a fair amount of time enjoying sets at Elks Park this year ... Troubadours and Band contests were fun to catch up-and-coming musicians who poured their heart and soul out to smaller crowds who soaked up the shade while the sun baked the field near the main stage ...

Anna Tivel, the 2016 Troubador winner, was a real treat ... catching her set was like striking Gold while panning for Silver in a canyon full of Tellurium :) ... please invite her back to Telluride !

tarp runs to claim prime field spots can yield rewards for a great day of music on the main stage ... but there's something to be said for chilling out on cozy chairs listening to great music under shady trees during the heat of the day !
