Hi All, I'm Jason and I'm looking forward to my first Telluride Bluegrass Festival!
I'm an amateur mandolin player and I have a few questions regarding picking:
1. From what I've read, it looks like most picking is done inside closed camps. Are there public or hotel jams during the days or nights?
2. I have Festival tickets but not a camping pass. If I want to stretch/wander around during the show, is it pointless to bring an instrument into the ticketed area in hopes of finding nearby folks to jam with away from the main event if I can't access a camp?
I'm trying to get a clear picture of what it is like before I decide whether to take my mandolin on a plane (it has a fear of flying).
Your information is much appreciated!
Thank you,
Jason
