I'm teaching online during the festival.  Not ideal but it's happening anyway!  I'm camping at Lawson.

If anyone else has done this or will be doing this, I'd love to gather some strategies!

I've not heard of anyone doing this, but I know several people who head to the library during the festival to get some work done. Telluride has a great library that you should definitely check out.

I've been on the other end, as a student the last couple summers. The library is great. Wifi is free and fast, and there are a couple rooms where "quiet" is not enforced. Great place for work and study, and if you don't need absolute quiet, you can hear the mainstage from the courtyard where the wifi still works.

Great!  Do you bring your own computer or use the library's?

I'm a bit worried about not having my own in case I need to fix something.

If feasible, I'd bring your own. The library's require sign up and a time limit may be enforced if there's high demand. I just leave mine in the tent when not in use. Never had an issue.

I'll be in the same boat as you. Only I'm taking the courses. I did it also 2 years ago and just snuck off to mountain village for an hour or two each day. Honestly, I felt like I had plenty of time left over.  It's always quiet up there too and there's a nice little coffee shop with wifi... and starbucks.   I think if I remember correctly even Telluride Brewing Company has wifi... may find myself there "studying."   :)

thanks!  that's more the plan I was thinking of and just keeping the computer locked in the car--assuming it's parked up there like it was last time, then there's no worry about it in the tent.  I'm more concerned about heat and rain than theft!

There's wifi around for sure. My mom has taught online every year we've gone (6 years now). It's different for us because we have wifi at our condo, but there are spaces that have wifi you can use in small bursts (and you can listen to the KOTO stream while you're doing it !!:))

Same boat - I'm headed to the library! We can study and jam silently together.  Thumbs Up
