new cd en-route should have any day

love this recent bit from RS. paul is such a card...

But perhaps the true spirit of the festival was most embodied by a group of upstarts from Michigan called Greensky Bluegrass. Much like the festival itself, Greensky are hardly strictly bluegrass and, yet, they're representing the genre for a whole new generation. "We like fun, rowdy, energetic crowds who drink a lot and scream a lot," mandolinist Paul Hoffman told Rolling Stone after coming offstage from a set that literally won over tens of thousands of new fans, instantly. In fact, Greensky reportedly sold more CDs than just about any other performer during the weekend. "We bring bluegrass to people who aren't familiar with it.

I believe Pirate means that the Rolling Stone article was referencing when Greensky played Hardly Strictly back in 2011...so Paul's comments, etc, were back then in 2011.

On a side note, this year's Hardly Strictly was freaking killer. Sunday, I might as well have been in Telluride as I saw Tim O'Brien  into the Dusters into Jerry Douglas (on the Banjo stage).

So, partly because I love the new Greensky album I have bought my flight tickets and booked accommodation to fly from Australia AGAIN to come to Telluride. Getting super excited, of course despite the fact that it is eight months away. ( How can a year be that long?)  When it suddenly hit me - what if I come all this way and Greensky aren't actually playing??? Tell me this isn't possible...Greensky is like Sam Bush aren't they? A Telluride definite??  Will they be there in 2017?  Cause there will be tears otherwise.... Cannot wait to see everyone again Spiritual home....... Flower Flower Flower

I have heard Paull Hoffman and others say that they plan to be at Telluride for the rest of their days as a band so I think it's absolutely a safe bet! After all, winning the Telluride band comp in 2006 is what put them on the map and they say it's their favorite week of the year! (And all of ours too!).

When are you flying in? You should try coming earlier so you can spend more time hanging with friends in TP!
