Let the fest begin!

Avett's are a fabulous live band.  I've tried many times to turn people on to them via their CDs, but this never works.  Dragging them to a concert makes them an instant fan.

They played TBF many years ago, but it seems like they continue to get better and better, and bigger and bigger on the festival circuit.  Yes, it's time to bring them back!

Saw the Avett Brothers at the Boulder Theater a while ago - 2010 or 2011. Energy in that room was palpable. I liked their RR shows, maybe not as much as the smaller venue, but they would be a great main stage act.

It would be super cool if someone could talk 16 Horsepower into getting back together for a Telluride.

That would be solid.

It'd be great to see Sturgill Simpson get a sundown set- his new album is beautiful and the horns are superb.

Dawes also put out an amazing record last year, and they'd be fantastic.

Father John Misty, The Avett Brothers, Rayland Baxter, Trampled by Turtles or the Steeldrivers would be awesome too  Cheers

I've been asking for Sturgill for the past couple of years and so I'll kindly ask again (please before he gets too big). He would rip up Telluride, check out what he just did to SNL, especially Call To Arms:

Also please Tedeschi Trucks Band, Gary Clark Jr, JRAD and Fruition.

the tour he did behind this new album was amazing++
he ended the show by playing the entire album from start to finish with the last song being call to arms
after that, there was absolutely no need for an encore!!

So we have now seen some BIG lineups announced from other festivals.  Would like to see the acts that Telluride will be bringing this year.  This is by far my favorite festival every year- but seems like we aren't booking much more than the norm and my ticket prices keep going up.

What do you have for us this year Planet Bluegrass!?

Sturgill? Tedeschi? Trampled?

I don't know if this is even a possibility, but has there been any discussion on Chris Thile doing a prairie home companion at the Telluride stage on Saturday. I'm sure the logistics would be tough and there may even be some legal issues in combining the two events. Still, considering it is a 2 hour show with many performers I could see a way it could work. Just an idea.

I've been really conflicted thinking about this lately. There are so many great things about TBF - no greater destination, awesome crowd, the right size, House Band worth the ticket price alone, Nightgrass super fun, etc. But there's also been some unofficial but logical speculation (based on lineup evidence from the past few years ) that times are changing - I've only been coming to Telluride since '07, and maybe this makes me sound like a spoiled baby, but I don't think I'm being a hater (or at least don't intend to be) when I say that there are several other similar festivals whose initial lineups are a lot stronger than TBF's this year. Nervously looking forward to some additions that will hopefully prove me wrong. 😳

I really like the Henhouse Prowlers Medal I can never get enough of Lyle Lovett and strong female in there like Dolly to tear the roof off the house. She can do Bluegrass like nobodies business. Chris Stapleton, woof, love his voice and paired with Dierks holy shi,, cow.

I have to admit it. Been listening to some Country as of lately. Flower
