I know PB and festival team try to keep rules to a minimum, and I'm supportive of that, and I also understand that some are needed, maybe none more than keeping heads down to a certain level for those that are committed to getting up close and personal to the music. That said, I am looking at purchasing a "festival" chair that will pass the basketball test for sitting in front of the sound booth. Can anyone please let me know a couple of things- does the basketball need to pass only under your butt or under lowest frame cross member? can anyone provide examples / pics of chairs that are totally dialed in to rules and comfort?

Thanks for any inputs to this pretty mundane request but we will be on our butts in these chairs for a good while over the course of 4 days and nights even though we do plan on being vertical a lot, too, butt and back comfort are essential for total festivation!

Ball needs to pass under your butt. Wink

It's a good question. We have the GCI wilderness recliners. They are very comfortable.  Not the cheapest models available ($60/ea), but worth it IMO.

The ball should NOT be able to pass under your butt for it to be a low back chair. Thumbs Up

Right!  And I can assure you that you do NOT want to catch the attention of the basketball butt police!!

I like this one...

or for two

I have both and I must say they were the best investments I have made.

So, does Linds' chair pass the "basketball under the butt" test? Is it actually measured to the bottom of your bottom regardless of however much framing you had under it?

I have this one in mind.

It seemed to the last time I sat in one (but that was a demo when the thing was still in development last year).  It's lower than it looks.  I'm going to check before I get one (or just borrow one from the company).  I think it's "officially" about 10 inches to the bottom of your butt, but it seemed much lower.  If that one doesn't work, I might bring one of these to use with my pad:  https://www.bigagnes.com/Products/Detail/Accessory/BigEasyChairKit

Your Crazy Creek one looks perfect, actually.  Lots of people have those low chairs from REI, and yours looks just like one of those.  I think you should be fine.  I love the tie dye, too!
