Hello Experienced festivarians. When Can a Warner field camping  4 day pass possessor move onto Warner Field? Hopefully, it is not as late as Wednesday preceding Festival. If that is the case, is there a nearby camping option earlier in the week? Thank you!
Linda

Warner Field opens Wednesday morning at 9:00 AM.

There's a few places you can go before that.

Hi Tom, Thanks so much for those links. Per the load in procedure. When I walk in to set up my tent/tarp, could that include a shade shelter with a tarp covered by my shade shelter (easy up or other shade shelter)? Then I could come back to set up tent, etc... when I drive my car up to town park gate or (I'm thinking) walk in on foot with a large wagon.
Do people set up and use kitchens in Warner field?

Oh, Tom... I forgot to ask the dreaded question. What time do people begin to line up for the Warner Campground walk on to the campground portion of the load in procedure? Thank you.

Old TBF festivarian forum info for newbies states Warner field wristband allows you entry in to town park for social events. however, that post was from 2007. Does it still hold true?

Thank you again!

The line will start on Tuesday evening, your tarp will hold your spot but something heavy to hold the tarp is recommended, and YES!, that Warner Field wrist band allows you complete access to Town Park!!!

Welcome to the party!!!  Thumbs Up

Thanks so much Auntie Hope. So people lay out rolled or unrolled tarps in a line that begins on Tuesday evening to enter the Warner field on Wed morn. So I leave my tarp weighted down with something heavy and unattended overnight in line and find somewhere else to spend the night and return in the morn to find it in it's same place . Or I am allowed to be the something heavy weighting my tarp down and sleep there in line overnight? o people set up small tents to sleep in overnight on their tarp or most go away and come back in the morn when the line begins to move? Thanks so much and glad to know warner field pass allows me to mingle in town park.

The town has an ordinance against sleeping on the sidewalk (in line) and they don't allow tents to be set up there either.
If you have a partner with you then you may be able to take shifts in a lounge chair to get a quick nap, but someone should be awake in case the sheriff walks by.
Also be aware that it can get very cold at night at that altitude even in summer.
There have been times that jugs of water left out have frozen overnight. EEK!

Let me qualify....

You and your rolled up tarp will be in line overnight. In the morning you will enter the baseball field, unroll your tarp on your camp spot, weight it down, then go get your equipment and set up camp.

Make sense?
Like T-Tom said, be very prepared for the cold night. Frozen jugs and other parts should be considered.  Thumbs Up

Here's another option to consider...this is what I would do if camping at Warner. I would get a hotel room in town on Tuesday. Wednesday morning, sometime before 9 I would walk from the hotel over to Warner with a tarp and a couple of things to weight it down. After you lay out your tarp (BTW you will still get a good spot - Warner just isn't that big) I would walk back to the hotel and shower, get a good breakfast and check-out before heading back to Warner to set up camp. This way you start the festival refreshed and clean versus cold and tired from having just sat in a line all night (nights in Telluride are really cold when you're not in a tent).

I plan on arriving to Warner Thursday Morning.  Will here still be spots available? I'm assuming they don't sell more passes than there are sites?

For the last 4 years I have driven from Delores on Wednesday morning roll into town, park, get in lin at Warner and there has never been more than 40 people in line! No need to spend the night in line for Warner field! Just be in line at 8 to 8:30 AM and it's easy money from there. Have a tarp with you to claim your spot! Also if you are arriving on Thursday, there will still be spots. They just may not be as big as they are on Wednesday.
