Great Line Up.

Is Cowan "at large"? With The House Band?

Yep. Cowan is a special guest throughout the festival.

Not that is one really sweet thing to look forward to this year. Can't wait!

Put me in a room where there is freedom of self and I am in the correct place. Hope you are a beacon of light! I appreciate your openness and willingness to communicate and not just blow smoke. Meaty gal you! Medal LOL Lets talk under a tree by the river, maybe in June. Medal

Me and the wife will be first timers this year.  Have 3 day passes, Mary I camping.  This fest has been on my bucket list for quite a while.  Will be making the roadie from TN, also first time to the real Mountains.  Sooo many great bands on the lineup.  Beyond pleased.  I think the only lingering question I have after hours spent in this forum is, How do I make sure that I don't miss out on the Nightgrass lottery???

Agreed--it's so great to see Mandolin Orange on this list! Such a good sound from those folks.

Amazing line-up as expected. The next 3 months need to start moving a lot faster!!

Perfect lineup!  I really can't wait now!  Medal

Everyone is invited to Kamp DukTape during Ryan Adams' set.  We'll be holding a bake sale to raise money to help that poor kid get a haircut.    :sorry

Adams played Fest a few years ago.  Something (alcohol? drugs? killer flank steak?) was obviously affecting his performance.  It was sloppy at best (at times much worse).  I couldn't handle it and left with a lot of the crowd.  It was the only time I left the Fest because of a performance.

He had been a darling of the music critics, so I was looking forward to his appearance, and totally disappointed.  But the critics still love him, and his new CD is getting fabulous reviews so I'm more than willing to give him another shot.  We all have bad nights (me probably way more bad nights than Adams!) so I'm looking forward to a big redemption.

Redemption is the perfect word.

Adams played a feature spot in 2008 with The Cardinals.  I was really looking forward to it.  I walked out too, something was obviously wrong with him.  The usual suspects came to mind, but in early 2009 he quit the Cardinals and took a break from music citing, among other things, Meniere’s Disease.  According to Wiki, "Meniere’s Disease is a disorder of the inner ear that can affect hearing and balance. It is characterized by episodes of vertigo, tinnitus, and hearing loss. The hearing loss comes and goes for some time, alternating between ears, then becomes permanent."

Now, I'm not ruling out contributions by the usual suspects, but this actually would explain what I saw and heard that night.  His musical and vocal lines ran longer in almost every song than the rest of the band, creating a disjointed disaster.  With things not going well, he seemed to bear down harder and turn himself up louder, which only made things worse.  I remember asking myself, can he hear what the rest of the band is doing?  It didn't sound like he could.

So, just like in 2008, I'm looking forward to seeing Ryan Adams for the first time.

Maybe you'll have to save me a brownie, Bevin  Wink

It'll be announced here when the lottery opens. Keep checking back.

AND can we please talk about the GSBG Friday closer?!?!?!  :burn  Cheers

So with GSBG closing Friday night, I'm betting they will play Palm Saturday night. I know that's not much of a stretch/bet but I'm waiting for Hot Sugar to chime in that he feels it will be Thursday (for no other reason than just being Hot Sugar who whiffs on Nightgrass predictions).

Re: Ryan Adams, I missed 2008 TBF and his (apparent) debacle of a set. That said, I saw him at Hardly Strictly in 2014 and he killed it!

Greensky closing Friday is my favorite part of the entire lineup. Time to rage!!  Rockin In fact all of the closing bands are great this year. I might even have to cut back on the Nightgrass shows this year  Wink

Billy, was the Ryan Adams set at Hardly Strictly with a backing band? I think Ryan is a great addition to the lineup because he is mega-talented, I just worry that a solo acoustic set (while great in a small room) might get "lost" at a bigger outdoor festival on a Saturday evening.

Full band, man. Now, I don't know if he's going to play any of the 1989 Taylor Swift cover album he released last year. I'm only vouching for the 2014 set, etc  Thumbs Up

I'm actually predicting a Saturday night nightgrass for Greensky this year and hoping for a Thursday night Dusters nightgrass.

There you go again, Sugar. No way the Dusters play Thu night NG. I know you are hoping for it but the earliest they play a NG would be Friday night.
