OK, OK. Even by my standards, this has been too teasy. Suffice it to say the artist I first wanted to tell you guys about has taken a bit of time to get announce details clear.

BUT, that should be done tomorrow.

I will say, that, finally, the name has arisen... some of you have guessed it.....

but, I can' just come out and SAY it! :)

I can say, that forever more, when it comes to the Telluride Bluegrass Festival...

Hey Ferg - It's "tomorrow"!

I'd trade all my tomorrow's for a single yesterday.

I dunno.  We'll see later today, but I can't think that Ferg has been been trying and trying for 30 years to book Neil Finn.  If that really is his dream booking, I'll be the first one to admit that I am a terrible lineup guesser.

I mean, "Don't Dream It's Over" is a Crowded House song, which Neil Finn was a member of, and is what Craig is 'Listening To" according to his last post.

But Ferg is also a huge tease and said that listening to a Tolkien soundtrack was NOT a hint. So, indeed -- we'll see.

So I was thinking, trying to parse Ferg's clue about being nearly ready to announce a "him" that he's been trying to hire for "30 straight years."  That's a pretty big group that could include, in no particular order, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Carlos Santana, Tom Petty, John Mellencamp, Stephen Stills, Neil Young, Phil Lesh, Bob Weir, Warren Haynes, Paul Simon, Buddy Guy, Lindsey Buckingham, David Gilmour, Roger Waters, Ray Davies Dave Davies, David Bowie, Gregg Allman, Charlie Daniels, Merle Haggard, Chuck Leavell, Darius Rucker, Alan Jackson, Kenny Wayne Shepherd and another 100 great artists that I'm not thinking of this morning.

It will probably be none of these guys but it's an invigorating playlist for a Winter Wednesday.

I'm jumping on the Leon Russell bandwagon, because of all the "OK" clues (Leon's a good Tulsa boy).  He seems to be pretty active these days, like at this tribute show honoring Joe Cocker and Mad Dogs & Englishmen (lots of great people on the stage for this performance):

Duo Schmuo, there is a lot more at stake than that. New Grass Revival was Leon Russels back up band, back in the day! So let's get Sammy and Bela out there too (Bela Came to NGR after the Leon days, but he will be there any way so why not! Pirate

Prince is touring this summer, not quite bluegrass, yet incredibly talented, 30 years works, hard to work and book/negotiate with, it all fits.

Well that would make the best festival in the world, the best anything in the world. Seriously. That would be insane. It's the perfect "this festival is so cool that XXXX performed" statement.

Chris Hillman, J.D. Souther, Roger McGuinn, David Crosby.  Come to think of it, we could almost pull off a Buffalo Springfield reunion.
