Hi -

This is our first time to Telluride..travelling from PA.  Wondering what is the best way to get 4 day tickets?  I see they sell out in a few minutes..buy on-line or should I call?  Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

I've done it online over the last couple of years and have had no problem getting tickets. You may need to reload the page a time or two because of traffic, but you'll get there. Worst case, there are always multiple tickets for sale in the spring via the forum, Facebook, craigslist etc. Good luck and see you there!

Yeah, but please don't buy tickets for more than face value (Craigslist, etc.)  It's kind of our special deal here, and even when you buy tickets from Planet Bluegrass you have to affirm that you won't sell them for more than face value.  Plus Craigslist sellers can be kinda sketchy sometimes.

If the tickets DO get sold out before you can grab them, keep your eye on the ticket exchange on this forum.  Tickets pop up all the time, especially after the NightGrass lottery is over (cuz people hope to trade fest tickets for NG tix).

Yep- insist on face value. I had extra tickets one year and sold on Craigslist- of course for face. Most people that have been before will do the same. I've also bought on Craigslist- face value, no sketch. Buyer beware tho- for sure!

INSIST on face value. If the scalpers don't make money, they won't be back next year to buy your tickets.

We've made a little head-way over the past couple of years with scalpers....keep up the fight! ninja

There are always tickets available for face value. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING ELSE. Just keep on the forum and check in several times a day. Two years ago, two weeks before fest I bought 2 TP tickets for face value from a great guy on this forum. The way the planet does this is sooooooo cool. I felt so good buying tickets from someone thousands of miles away. We both got on the phone with the planet, they verified that the tickets were legit, they were transferred to my name, I sent money via pay pal, and the tickets were waiting for me at Will Call. Thanks Matt! Thanks Planet! Work this board, let people know that you are looking, a miracle can happen! Pirate

Let's not make Run a Muck a pirate free zone again this year.

In addition to the rest of the good advice, as someone who had an extra to sell last year, and who waited until after Nightgrass tickets went on sale to try to unload it, the resale market was pretty saturated. I ended up going below face for a couple of them due to the competitive need to unload extras.

So, they will sell out quickly, but don't let that turn you to scalpers in desperation -- give it a couple of months and more will likely turn up gradually, though it's obviously not as firmly guaranteed as if you just get on and buy them the morning they go on sale.

This is gold. The last several years, it has been not only possible but easy to find tickets below face in the month leading up to the festival. While I wouldn't personally rely on that, know that you will absolutely be able to find tickets if you look.
