Gillian Welch with David Rawlings were off the charts at Hardly Strictly On Saturday Banjo Stage.  Check out the Webcast Archive 2015 at http://www.hardlystrictlybluegrass.com/2015.  They stood out for me among a lot of great acts.

Let me first say that in the years that I have been coming to TBF (since2000) I have been exposed to so many incredible groups (Cheese, Yonder, Leftover,Nickel Creek,Calexico,Edwin Sharpe) to name a few. That said I have incredible faith and confidence in your ability to procure talent. I would love to hear Railroad Earth again and with Mr. Haynes, it might be truly amazing. I would also love "I'm With Her" or any group with Aiofe. My Friday night blast recommendation would be Tedeschi Trucks. Really trust your good taste
AND: I just heard a duet called ROAR. He plays drums and keys, she sings, plays trombone, dances. I couldn't believe that this duo could make such infectious dancing music. Reminded me, in a quirky sort of way of either The Subdudes or Calexico in terms of wow! what an unexpected pleasure. BTW they're from New Orleans

I just had the pleasure of catching Warren Haynes' show in Boston last night.  It was outstanding.  The music he's playing these days (his band included a banjo, mandolin and fiddle) will never be more aligned with TBF than it is now.  Whether its with RRE (my first choice!) or whatever configuration Warren wants to bring, please Craig, try to make this happen for 2016!

I believe Warren is currently touring with a group called Chess Boxer made up of former Cadillac Sky members. That would be great, too, but Warren and RRE really is the top potential act as far as I'm concerned.

I'm confident that the TBF2016 line up will be fantastic.  My question involves the Camp Run-A-Muck line up.  Who are you guys presenting in 2016?

I have five big wishes for next year. One of them is already confirmed thanks to the Telluride Band Competition judges, so that makes the rest easy, right?

Since the Lil Smokies are already going to be there, I'll just do a top 4 countdown.

4) Keller Williams and Grateful Grass featuring (spoiler alert) members of the Infamous Stringdusters. I haven't had a chance to see any of these sets, but every single one I've heard has been incredible. This would be a great afternoon set or even an elk's park workshop or nightgrass.

3) Dead Winter Carpenters. They've got a great sound and really jam it out when they want to, as shown in this video featuring two of my favorite songs of theirs. Here's a video of them at String Summit in 14 (I can be seen dancing around on the rail in this video and the first video). Here's a video of them slowing it down a bit. And, just because, here's a video of them playing "Bad Moon Rising" with The Brothers Comatose (who would also be great). I'd also recommend checking out this recording on archive. It's night two of a two night run and the entire first set is Grateful Dead covers. I'm probably over selling them, but I really dig their music.

2) Warren Haynes featuring Railroad Earth. This is a no brainer. The album they just put out, Ashes and Dust, is phenomenal. One of my favorite new albums. Here's one of the best tracks off it. This would be a perfect Friday night closing set.

1) (I spoiled this one in my number 4 entry, but oh well) The Infamous Stringdusters. In my opinion, there is no better band in the world today. We haven't seen them in Telluride since 2013, which is just too long. I was injured that year and only spent a few hours on the festival field as I could barely walk, but I made it down for The Dusters and then made it down to The Palm for their nightgrass. I say let them close out Thursday night and give them a nightgrass show with Keller at The SOH on Saturday.

Unfortunately, I was unable to attend The Summit this year. I got a promotion as soon as I returned from Telluride and taking extra time off a month later wasn't going to be in the cards. I plan on being back next summer, however. It's easily the second best festival I've ever been to (after TBF, of course). It's definitely worth attending. The only problem is that you aren't allowed to bring outside alcohol into the campground because of some dumb Oregon liquor laws. And they actually do checks as you drive in. Sometimes it's as simple as checking you're cooler and maybe a dry tub or two, but I've heard stories of them completely unpacking people's cars. I spent a good hour or so in a gas station parking lot hiding beer in my car only to not get checked at all because I arrived several days early as a volunteer.

Just shove a couple bottles of whiskey in your sleeping bag and you should be good.

Excellent!  Run-A-Muck is my favorite NightGrass venue.

One the main stage, I'd love to see Jose Gonzalez.  And it's high time RRE came back.
