Remember the year that Ratbastard needed one of those?  It was the year someone found him wandering along the bank of the river about 2 miles out of town... no shoes, no glasses (legally blind that bastid is), no freakin' clue...

I think I banned him from TBF for that one... and then banned him from...

ahh...yeah.

A personal 'Lost and Found' tag is a great idea!  I have often needed one of those stuck to my forehead for my return trips from the nighttime excursions to the porta-pots.  The tag should show the GPS coordinates of my tarp as well as my favorite beverage.

Anyone ever use the skier's heat packs for hands and feet?

Hope Lin  pickin

Hi Hope!

Do you mean those little packs you tear open & shake, and they give several hours of heat? I've used those in my boots, and I think they are one of the greatest inventions in history. My feet get cold easily, and when my feet are cold, I am miserable! But those little heat packs are wonderful! Although, some people think they get TOO warm. But if I can keep my feet warm, I am a Happy Camper!

How about those new 'Therma-Care Heat Wraps' for the cooler evenings?

A good backpackers tip:
Boil up some water and put it in a nalgene before bed. It'll keep your feet warm all night long.

Yup! Those are the little packs I'm asking about!

(By the way, I think Hooch is one of us, but he has it real, real bad  EEK! and sees little red hippos that he has to jump over during the tarp run.)

Ahhh, the good 'ole hot water bottle trick. Forgot about that one. Thanks Smo!

I can't live without friends in Telluride! Looking forward to meeting up with all of you, old and new, very soon!

Holy crap I'm going to need about 12 pairs of those things!  Will it look suspicious if I bring 12 pairs of flip flops into the festival every day?

Hope Lin: Do you mean to say that everyone doesn't see little red hippos during the tarp run????

The only thing that would make these even better is if there were a church key in the sole!

Hope Lin, I live in Western Colorado, and those heat packs are a true life saver!!  I use them for skiing, snowshoeing, camping, hiking, etc.  They are great, and last for at least 6-8 hours!  I use the hand and feet ones, and now they even have body ones!  I get "turkey butt" really badly and I just stick those on my bottom and they keep it toasty warm all night.  Totally worth the buck or two they cost!   Flower

Hey, great link!  Thanks!  And thanks for backing me up on the hippos.  I knew I was not going crazy.  Or perhaps I am going crazy and taking you with me.  It's a short trip.  Because it's like saying to the dude next to you, "Hey, did you see that?" and he says, "No, what?" and you say, "That over there." and he says, "The shoe sale?" and you say, "No, behind the shoe sale." and he says "The pot of Tulips?" and you say, "No!  The big red Hippo next to the Tulips!!!".  Ya know what I mean???
