I am camping at Illium this year(just bought my ticket yesterday!).  Do I have to go into town first and get my wristband before I am allowed to unload my camping stuff, or can I just go straightaway to Illium?
Thanks,
Robb

Auntie Hope,

I posted a link to some Ilium pics and talked about some stuff over here - might help.

What did you experience upon arrival...
We pulled in late, after midnight on Weds. People were working the gate so we got our wrist bands and properly oriented. After driving around a bit as quietly as we could we set up in a great little corner, then took the car to the road and returned to camp and met some neighbors. The gate seems to always be staffed, which is appreciated.

...with the parking...
I don't mind parking on the road but I am a walker and I don't need my car for anything during fest proper.

...during the festival, riding the shuttle bus....
I've only gotten antsy from waiting for the shuttle a couple times. It's pretty well-ran and your fellow riders are fun and interesting people. You probably don't want to be going back and forth in a couple times in single day.

...the on-site/off site facilities....
Well beyond adequate. I thought it was a bit of a hassle to get to the HS for a shower and then off to where ever you're going.

I don't recall any kids around. I'm not a parent but I'd say that its not unfriendly to children.

Sure would like to hear about more Ilium traditions.

Correct! Thought I addressed you and that question directly, but I see that I didn't.

How do you get a vehicle pass?

Its a separate purchase at the store or on the resale board.

(need.... more..... input)

Anything specific you are looking for?

You perspective was spot-on Matt. They loved it!  Thumbs Up

Did ya camp with a youngin'? How many kids did ya see down the road there? Quite Time enforced, or just good neighbors? Have there been any Mary E. traditions started, like in Town Park?

Auntie Hope  pickin

I have camped in Illium fpr the past 5 years and I love it. It's just too much of a hastle lugging all your stuff for the day on the bus and missing all the night grass. But as for good spots go, there is an Aspen grove just below the road that is probably the best spot in camp. Good morning shade, and your camping in the middle of a freakin aspen grove. The night life in Illium isn't too extreme, but still, good late night fun is had by most. Quiet hours are from 2am-7am I believe. The whole "neighborly love" that seems to take place at town park doesn't quite role over to Illium, but it's wonderful people all around. As for camping with kids, I think it should go over pretty well, but it's quite a bit more rugged than camping at TP. No set bathrooms, only port-o-john's, and the closest showers are at the high school. I think Illium is a wonderful place to camp and they are gonna love it!!!

Hey Joel, they should have them there for you at Ilium when you roll in :)

I just wanted to confirm this for ya, Joel.

Confirmed.

(how'd I do? LOL )

Hopefully the camping passes and the festival passes are on the same order. If not, you might only find the camping passes at Illium...if you ordered both of them at the same time, you should find everything waiting for you at the campground.

Cheers
