As of right now the weather gods are smiling and ready to bake us during the festival. It looks like some rain early in the week but then warm and dry for the weekend. Be on the road to Telluride starting tomorrow morning, see you soon.

Let the fest begin!

I was there this weekend, and even tho there was some rain and a brief bit of sleet, there was NO time when I thought "ugh, I would hate to be at the fest at this very moment."  There WAS a lot of quick clothes changes (sweatshirt on, sweatshirt off, rain jacket on, hood up, etc) but it was never horrible out there.

That being said, weather.com's 10 and 15 day forecasts (which are NOT completely reliable) are calling for a HOT fest (75 to 77 degree sunny days and 47 to 48 degree nights) with 0% chance of precipitation and breezy conditions (11 - 12 mph winds daily).  That would be wonderful, but again, these forecasts can change quickly and drastically.

Weather Underground agrees on Wed & Thurs but doesn't go past that.  AccuWeather agrees with the sunny conditions for the weekend, but with MUCH lower daytime temps (highs of 59 - 68, lows of 40 - 43).

This weather update is presented by "Me knocking on wood"...

Gapple, I'm not changing anything on my packing schedule.  If I take out that extra army blanket and heavy fleece guaranteed it will snow Thursday night.  I am packing for a range of conditions between 35 and 85 (ok, wishful thinking...75?), including poly long underwear and wool hat at one end and shorts, extra sunblock and a sun-beater hat at the other.

I bought a new set of rain pants, even though I am certain I have another pair around somewhere, that will probably pop up as I am unpacking after the festival.
Anyway, I know the sun will shine and nary a drop of water will fall now.

Weather.com and weather underground pretty much agree that the fest looks dry and warm, with a couple days of showers BEFOREHAND to hold down the dust during fest.  Accuweather predicts a 17-degree cool down on Fest Friday (from 74 to 57!) with "a little rain" on Saturday.

But I'll go out on a limb here and predict fun, mustaches for all and FESTIVAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!
