Was just thinking about this Hippie!  ... since Clarks is also in the midst of a major expansion / renovation.

The Village Market is currently totally closed (unknown eta on completion) and Clarks is in the midst of a "shuffle" whereby everything from the old section has been moved into the completed new wing while they finish remodeling the old section.  However, the new wing is considerably smaller than the old section and aside from produce / meat / deli, they only have a fraction of what they normally would carry.  Likewise, the logistics of only two temporary check out registers have caused major backups at key times (immediately after school ends or after 5pm) ... and this is without the stress of a major festival.

So, what I'm driving at is that if neither the Village Market or Clarks completes their projects before bluegrass, I would HIGHLY recommend stocking up on everything you need in Montrose, Durango, Cortez, or Moab ... unless you enjoy a shopping experience which mimics what it might be like in Florida with a hurricane approaching.  Seriously, it'll be THAT bad!

Hopefully, at least one will cross the finish line in time & it'll at least be tolerable.

Yeah, one can always go to the TMV market, either way it'd be a bit of a hassle.

Hopefully, one of the markets in town will cross the finish line in time ... I'm sure they're both well aware of the financial ramifications which are at stake.

WHAT!?!

Beautiful walk through town to gondola house, beautiful ride over the mountains, free ride by the way, amazing views rain, snow or shine, shop and reverse the process!

FOM, we are on vacation in your paradise. Nothing is a hassle.  Thumbs Up

Unless you can't walk that far. Frown
I'm not even sure if my scooter can make it to Clark's and back on a charge and I doubt if I can get it on the gondola.

Of course, with a few exceptions!

Very true in general terms ... sometimes it takes such a reminder!

There's still time left & hopefully it'll just be something pondered.

Finally got a peek inside the Village Market today ... looks like everything is stripped down to the concrete and metal walls/roof.  Not sure what they have planned as far as timeline for bluegrass, but clearly there's a good ways to go.  Taken earlier today:

Wow. Bent walls. That must be fire damage from the night Baked in Telluride burned. huh
(just has a chill run up my spine).

So, are they taking that structure down or just re-vamping the place?

Yeah, that wall to the right is the BIT side ... so very possible the fire may have done that!

I'm pretty sure they're keeping the structure, so there's a chance they could throw enough people at this to make it happen before bluegrass.
