Hello, I had a question about getting back to our condo in Mountain Village after nightgrass shows.  Am I correct that the gondola doesn't run late enough to use it to get back to Mountain Village after later nightgrass shows at the Sheridan Opera House (which usually end around 2am).  If so, what are the options for getting back to Mountain Village after a nightgrass show besides the gondola?  Are there any taxis or car service options?  Any advice would be much appreciated!!! Thanks!

Last I knew, the gondola is your only option, and it closes at 2 a.m.  Frown

You can always hike back via river trail & up boomerang (aligned with Shell station).  It'd be about 45-60 minutes to the Peaks from town & it's a moderately strenuous hike up Boomerang.

So does they mean there are no taxis in Telluride?

Does the Gondola run until 2am during the festival?  for some reason I thought it closed at 12 or 1.

Gondola stops at 2am you will have to miss the encores to get to the gondola as well as keeping in mind that there will be a gondola line.

I asked this question a couple of years ago, when I was staying at the Bear Creek Lodge for a weekend in August.  The front desk person said that there *is* a taxi service, but the fee is outrageous - something like $50.  I wonder if people could get together and ride share, though?  Maybe get a group that's going to the same concert, contact the taxi or car service ahead of time, and get them to pick you up sometime after the show - maybe 2:30 or 3 to make sure you catch all the encores?  I've never heard of people doing this, but it seems like something that could work.

This is the case most of the year, but during the Festival the gondola runs later, until 2 a.m.

Goose stops at 7 or 8 p.m. Don't remember extended hours for fest, but it does not run as late as the gondola.

Good Luck!  Thumbs Up

There are two taxi services in Telluride - Mountain Limo and Telluride Express. They often have drivers working very late during bluegrass to take of late night riders up to MV from town. Call them to check. There is also a public  bus service called the galloping goose which often runs late during bluegrass, but maybe not past the 2 am Gondola. check the schedule on the web.  have fun.

missing some of the show to catch the gondola down the mtn seems nutty to me. ugh

has anyone used mountain limo and the TE before? seems like the best option.
