Coming for my first Folks Festival...coming in from Indiana with a buddy for the entire festival.  I was pretty excited by Jason Isbell and Sufjan Stevens...but with the additions of Gillian Welch, Lucy Kaplansky (who has an angelic voice), Mary Chapin Carpenter and Shawn Colvin...this is an incredibly strong 3 day lineup.  REALLY looking forward to it!

Can't wait!  This is my first Folks Fest also.  I only know a few names on the lineup, but the same was true of my two visits to Telluride in the past, and I now count some of them among my favorite bands - I have no doubt the same will be true this summer!  I especially liked the way Bluegrass Brian teased out those final announcements, a few of which were posted around 2 or 3 AM - do you ever sleep Brian?

I'm driving in from Iowa, and should be setting up camp in Meadow Park Monday or Tuesday.  Looking forward to meeting some new friends and enjoying the music together!

Sunday night will be the duo of Gillian Welch & David Rawlings.  Pure magic.

Mary Gauthier put the poster on her FB page which galvanised me into booking flights from the UK and tickets and making this festival the centrepiece of my trip to Colorado as the line-up for the whole 3 days is just incredible!!!!  Adding Mary to those already mentioned, along with Kasey Chambers and the Waifs (GREAT Australian trio for those who haven't heard them) Richard Thompson and Peter Yarrow, it's going to be a festival that I will certainly remember for a LONG time to come!!
