I feel like I've invaded your fine forum without paying the proper dues so here goes my attempt to make amends. Sam Bush is a tremendous musician, pioneer and innovator, and a true American treasure. Telluride could not have a chosen a better person to be the real King.
Got to see Sam last year at Watermelon Park Fest in Berryille, VA. He did a Killer Sam Bush band main stage show, played some fiddle with Leftover Salmon, and he did a wonderful mandolin workshop with Drew Emmitt and Danny Knicely. One of those perfect Festival moments: beautiful warm late September day, drinking beer and hanging with some of my best friends, and privileged to listen to some of my idols pick and talk.
