Alright, everyone. It’s Tuesday morning; Craig’s on vacation; and there are exactly 100 days until Noam and Stuart kick-off the 42nd Annual Telluride Bluegrass…

I’d say it’s time to share the complete single-day lineup for the 42nd Annual Telluride Bluegrass Festival:
   http://www.bluegrass.com/telluride/lineup.html

The complete single-day main stage lineup includes these final additions:
* Janelle Monáe — The inimitable, award-winning, songwriter, performer, producer, CoverGirl and avant-garde funkstress
* Robert Earl Keen — Legendary Texas singer-songwriter, celebrating more than 30 years in music and his latest album "Happy Prisoner: The Bluegrass Sessions"
* Rhonda Vincent & The Rage — Int’l Bluegrass Music Association's 7-time Female Vocalist of the Year
* Brett Dennen — Beloved Northern California folk-pop singer-songwriter, returning for his third Telluride Bluegrass appearance
* Steep Canyon Rangers — Grammy-winning North Carolina bluegrass band
* Johnnyswim — Folk-soul husband and wife duo from Los Angeles
* Robert Ellis — Innovative Texas troubadour and his virtuosic electric band
* Mustered Courage — Acclaimed Australian bluegrass quartet

(Since I know you’ll all be asking, watch for a NightGrass announcement in early April, followed by a  FirstGrass announcement in May, and Elks Park schedule in early June. We’re busy getting all those sets put together right now.)

Janelle Monae ... that is some seriously inspired creativity!  My dancing flip-flops will need to be re-soled in preparation.

A superb lineup ladies and gentlemen -- thank you very much!

Backed by an electric Punch Bros? Either way, a cool, new addition to a bluegrass/country fest, fersure!  Thumbs Up

* Johnnyswim — Folk-soul husband and wife duo from Los Angeles   Thumbs Up
* Robert Ellis — Innovative Texas troubadour and his virtuosic electric band   Thumbs Up
* Mustered Courage — Acclaimed Australian bluegrass quartet  {will have to study up on this one...}

Janelle is going to be epic on Friday evening.  If you're unfamiliar, she's a brilliant forward-thinking artist with an inspiring positive energy who has performed at the White House, the Nobel Peace Prize gala, with Prince and Stevie Wonder, and now Telluride (her only show of 2015, so far).  Re-sole those flip-flops, indeed!

Here she is boogie-ing tens of thousands into a frenzy at Glastonbury in the UK:

After spening a little time on youtube, and a little time was plenty, I have a question, Brian.

Exactly how many oxygen tanks does Planet Bluegrass actually own?  Drunk (please insert horns for beer bottles)

 LOL

... Mando_Lines at No Depression just posted an interview about some of the sets we're most looking forward-to on this year's lineup. (He was able to somehow edit down my excited ramblings to make me sound somewhat coherent. Not sure how he did that...)

Brian Eyster of Planet Bluegrass Talks Telluride 2015

Mostly I mention this because at the end of the post there's a video of the awesome Kacey Musgraves tune "Burn One with John Prine" from a recent Kacey & John Prine songwriter-in-the-round session. It's worth a listen.

Next time you want to shake it up and add to the vibe, check out Nahko and Medicine for the People. At Sheridan on St Patty's Day.

Saw Mustered Courage in Carbondale, good band. Their live show is better than cd.

Not familiar with Jonelle but am up for anything that brings the funk to our mountain communities.
