Actually I'm the guitar player, but my buddy play only bass and we're flying in from Georgia.  Any recommendations for how we can get our hands on a bass for jamming?  We'll be camping in Town Park.  Thanks in advance!

Although he hasn't been on the forum in quite a while, you may want to check with Roach.

He's a regular at Telluride and plays bass in a Boulder bluegrass band.

Click on his name above for more info on him.

Thanks Tom will do.

Just found out my 19 yo son wants to join us.  My wife and I have two tickets in Town Park.    :)
We now have the unenviable task of finding one more.  He is willing to work as a volunteer as well.  I'll poke around but may post pleas on his behalf later on.

All the best,

Penn

No chance you're going to leave the son at home and give the bass his seat on the plans, is there?  huh That could solve all your problems.  Evil

Sorry, just thinking aloud. It's happens.  Wink

I may have already posted this, because I'm a troglodyte, but...  I've got a bass.  I'm not going to TBF, but she'd like to.  She's in Lakewood, and she doesn't drive, so she'd need a ride there and back.  If you can figure out the logistics, you can take her for a ride.

One of my many friends may volunteer to bring her but I haven't heard yet.
We'll keep you posted.
 Thumbs Up

In the mean time, you can check with Telluride Music Company to see if they will rent one or let you use one.

Jon(JB?),
You are incredibly kind!!  I am flying into Montrose and my bass playing bandmate is flying into Durango so we won't be driving near Denver.
Like Tom said, maybe someone can give it a ride but I don't know anyone driving from Denver.  If someone is coming that way I assure you we will keep it safe once we have it and play the heck out of it!    It is an upright bass, right?

Auntie Hope, I actually looked into the seat idea, but no go.  Aircraft seats aren't big enough to hold a bass.  I googled and flying with a bass is complicated... http://www.notreble.com/buzz/2011/01/17/flying-with-an-upright-bass/

 Cheers

Penn

My wife and I are coming from Lakewood on Wednesday morning (6/17), I can certainly hump that hawg on up the mountain if it still needs a lift. We'll be leaving Monday morning, so we'd need to coordinate the return leg, too.

Can you give Jonblair99 a call and coordinate?
It would be a big help. Thumbs Up

Thank you jonblair99 for your willingness to share your bass with me during Telluride.  I will treat her as if she were my own.  Thank you to "The Goat" as well for offering to drive Jon's bass from Lakewood to Telluride.  If you could give me a shout at your convenience (404.664.4633) to let me know how I might help coordinate and get you and Jon together I would appreciate it.  Jon Blair may be reached at 720.940.0259.  Thank you Telluride Tom for helping put all this together.  What a magnificent time it will be!

I'll give Jon a call right now. Ernie, I'll give you a call in the morning since you're on East Coast time and it's 10:30pm there.
