I just saw the Be Good Tanyas in Denver and they would be so wonderful to see where you can dance around in the warm grass!

Tracy Grammer and Jim Henry!

y first time to Folks was specifically to see Dave Carter and Tracy Grammer. Sadly that didn't happen. Dave died the previous month.  I had seen them once somewhere else during the previous year. Tracy's determination to keep Dave's music out there has led her to where she is today. I hear nothing but rave reviews of Tracy and Jim. I think it's time to have them at Folks.

Danny Schmidt!
and you can see him at South by Soutwest in Austin in March. I know a crew from Planet Bluegrass attended last year and hope you can get there this year, too.

I would also recommend Larry Zarella.

I love seeing the small bands not a lot of people know about at folks fest and I just saw an awesome band this weekend at Avo's in ft. collins- Steppin in it (http://www.steppininit.com/) from Michigan
Kind of bluegrass inspired folk with a cajun twist- tight vocals, energy, great songwriting, dobos, harmonicas, trombone, accordian, guitar, bass... and only 4 guys! Wow!
Also- I love Dar Williams- she should definitely come back.

I also saw Steppin' in it.  They would be a perfect fit.  Would also love to see Slipstream and Crooked Still play in that oh so beautiful place.  Lyons...

Mountain Goats - nice.  Thumbs Up  John Darnielle (Mountain Goats leader) is one of my favorite modern lyricists.  Have you see him/them play live?

I, too, would love to see Sufjan Stevens.  Apparently he just played at the Kennedy Center and they had like 3,000 camping out for the 1,000 tickets.

No, unfortunately haven't had the opportunity to see them yet, someday soon hopefully. I agree that Darnielle's lyrics are great - it's like musical storytelling.

I, too, would love to see Sufjan Stevens.  Apparently he just played at the Kennedy Center and they had like 3,000 camping out for the 1,000 tickets.

I hadn't seen the insanity for the Sufjan show.  Apparently it was for free tickets so that was must have been part of the draw.  He'll be in Denver in April for a show at the Fillmore, but I'm probably going to miss that one.  Maybe next time  Frown
