Tim Barry is a gret song writer from the east coast that would be a great Lyons afternooner....If you want some great local talent...Drag the river is a great little band out of foco that can Headline as a rocker or go acoustic and be a GREAT midday band...would love to see Stephen Kellogg again....

Mark Olson and Gary Louris.  Or a full-fledged Jayhawks acoustic reunion would be alright, as well  Wink

To those you who saw Greg Brown last Folks Festival, and were like me and thought his set list was filled with depressing/country going to hell/dark songs, you will be happy to know that he is playing a little more upbeat setlist now.  By upbeat, I mean happier/uptempo/fan faves.  I saw him in Austin at the Cactus Cafe a couple of weeks ago and it was awesome!  He'd be a great Folks Fest re-tread.

Who knows, maybe he didn't catch any fish before his Folks appearance last year?

I listened to an CD today by Tim Easton, The Truth About Us today and thought what an addition to Folks he'd be. I saw him at the Austin City Limits Festival a few years ago and really enjoyed him. He has that Dylan, Prine vocal thing going and writes some great songs.  Thumbs Up

Regardless of his setlist, I will be very, very happy when I see Greg Brown on the lineup for this year's show.  GREG BROWN. Please.

I think it was Mayor Richard J Daley (the 1st) of Chicago who said, local politics and local music are the most important.  Cheers
