Sunday Ticket - Worth it?

Newbie here

What are Sunday's like? Is the crowd all partied out by the final night? Does the music still go all night?

I can only do one day and tickets are only available for Thursday or Sunday. Should I wait for a Saturday to become available or plan on just coming for Sunday?

I'd say it's usually wilder on Friday and Saturday, as you might expect, but Thursday and Sunday have routinely been great as well. The only official Nightgrass late-night show on Sunday is usually Punch Brothers at the Sheridan, though I'm sure other shows tend to take place in campgrounds, at other venues, in the streets, etc.

I'd venture to guess you'd be able to stumble into a Friday or Saturday before all's said and done, though.

Sunday is great, but can be a bit more chill. The morning starts with a gospel set which is usually amazing. There's always a big headliner before the house band closes the festival. House band is unreal though..Sam Bush, Edger Meyer, Jerry Douglas, Stuart Duncan, Bela Fleck....Redic. Things do really wind down though and the MainStage shuts it down at 10 instead of 11 or 12.

...and on Sundays the crowd starts to clear out a bit so if getting up close is important this is a good day to move towards the stage.

It's also the day when we start to get tired...the very best kind of tired.

Assuming the house band will be on Sunday again this year, that would be worth the price of admission alone. In the seven years I've attended, they've closed Sunday night every year except 2011, when Robert Plant closed out the festival.

The Sunday house band is as good as it gets. They are worth the 1 day ticket and then some.   Plus the gospel set to open Sunday looks better than ever. If Robert Plant closes, than you may want to reconsider. More lineups tomorrow.

You should get your hands on as many days as possible. But, Elks Park has some pretty awesome shows and you might score a Nightgrass ticket or two. Basically, you can't go wrong here, some days are just righter than others...I have no idea what that meant.

If you plan on Sunday, plan on ALL DAY Sunday. Don't screw yourself out of one single moment of that Sunday.

If the only day you can make is Sunday, by all means come for it.  In some respect Sunday is my favorite day.  It always seems a little more laid back, but that may just be my perspective after three full days under my belt.  There are many locals and people from near by who cannot come for but one or two days due to their work/school schedule.  Go ahead and buy that Sunday ticket.  Hopefully you do not have to be back at work too early Monday.

I would not worry about the crowd being "all partied out".  TBF is a lot of fun and there is a lot of partying, but most of all it is about the MUSIC.  Buy your Sunday ticket.  We'll see you there.
