http://www.bluegrass.com/telluride/nightgrass.html

Looks like NightGrass was a great line up of shows last year!
I understand this is another lottery.

My guess would be the line up gets announced and you then enter what shows you want to see.
Looks like beginning of April this all comes together. Right?

Do they randomly select people based on whether they have TBF tickets already?
or is it just anyone can enter from anywhere regardless of whether they plan on attending or not?

Looks like there are 4 venues. are they small...ie) easily sell out every year? Or can you still buy tickets if you don't win the lottery? It appears all shows last year were sold out, so i'm a bit nervous to miss some of these shows

Also what time does the TBF end everyday?

thanks!!

Let's see:

Yes, the lineup get's announced and then you enter for the shows you want to see.

Whether you have tickets or not does not affect your chances in the nightgrass lottery.

There are four venues: The Conference Center (only used on Wednesday night), The Palm (The high school's auditorium), The Fly Me to the Moon Saloon and the Sheridan Opera House. The Conference Center and The Palm are both of a good size. The Conference Center show will most likely sell out via lottery, but there is a chance some of The Palm shows will still be available after the lottery ends. FMTTM and SOH are both very small and will sell out via lottery, no question.

As for TBF's end time, that depends on the day. Most days, the nightgrass shows will start before the end of the final act on the mainstage, but if you really want to hit that final act, you can usually make it in time for the second set onf the nightgrass shows.

See you in the canyon!

Yes, they randomly select for the lottery.  After they hook up the bands' families, friends, groupies, T-Ride town folk, certain volunteers/people etc., of course.  You'll have a 1%-3% chance at winning the lottery for any Sheridan shows and a few FMTTM are hard to get as well.  You'll be able to score tics to ANY show at the Palm w/ relative ease though.

Haha.  There may be some truth to that but I've received tickets to many NG shows at the Sheridan and The Moon over the years and I don't belong to any of the aforementioned categories of people!

Good luck in the lottery everyone.  Cheers

Not that one is better than the other, but man I love it when my nightgrass tix come, and I open up the envelope and see those pretty colors winking up at me...yeah, man!

Mark speaks the truth. Sauna is a word that comes to mind. We preach that you should dress in layers for fest from the get go.

Example A - Yonder's CC Show.  Thumbs Up
Example B - 2011 - Sunday - In the evening Mumford & Sons, then Robert Plant & Band of Joy, had Rain, Freezing Rain, Sleet & Snow.  Evil
