Hi there, we are hoping to visit and attend this wonderful festival next year. We both love bluegrass and this looks the best and most fun of all the events. We are going to stay in town we think but we will try for a campsite. Thanks for all the great advice on this site. I have two questions. How impossible will it be to get tickets? We are going to apply for camping and we will go in the general online sale ( even if I have to stay up to 3 am our time to get online). We have booked our flights so my second question is, can we buy tix in town when we are there if we miss out? How hard is that?

Finally - we don't know anyone, will it be easy to meet folk and make friends? We are in our late fifties, early sixties. Thanks so much, am really hoping we get there, we will definitely be in town come whatever, thanks, Lesley

welcome
Hi Lesley from Australia,
First off, continue to visit this forum thru October for ticket lottery info/instructions that happens in November. The "Town Park" and "Warner Field" ticket is a {{Fest & Camping}} (in town, onsite) pass together (one wristband) for one price. Then in December, the General Four Day pass goes on sale for all other town/condo folks, along with the other (remote) camping areas that are not fest/camping combined wristbands. Shuttles to fest/town are provided for these folks.
It's been getting very difficult to secure everything a group needs in the lotto and onsale, but thru the magic of the Festivarian Forum, most of us get'r'done by June... Cheers  But if the Ticket Goddess does not shine bright enough, tickets can still be found in Telluride the week of Festivaaaal! So plan your epic festadventure from the other side of the world. There are several of us on here to help out!  Thumbs Up  You'll be feelin' the HEEN before you even get there. :peace

As Swander said, keep your eyes on this forum for tickets. The past several years have been the same. Tickets are impossible to find until a week or two before the event and then they come pouring out. Keep faith and you'll find tickets.

I don't know where in Australia you are, but if you're anywhere near the Jamgrass festival, you should check it out! The promoter has made the trek from Australia to Telluride a few times and, knowing him, I'm sure he puts on one hell of a fest.

But if the Ticket Goddess does not shine bright enough

Which, by the way, we may need a new volunteer this year.   For those that have not heard, Debbie had a stroke after Telluride, and is still rehabbing, and struggling.   We'll be fortunate to see her at all in Telluride probably, and she definitely won't have energy for Ticket Goddessing.   Anyone want to step up?

Thank you so much. We will keep the faith and keep checking in here. Booked our flights, keep reading the posts, it looks awesome. Thanks so much for the information about jam grass, we will try to get there too,  not sure if we can volunteer ( both of us still work, that is how we can afford to get to bluegrass) but I will talk to Lou. Great community here, thanks. Lesley

Wrong Debbie. EEK!
It was Debbie from Tucson that had the stroke and she is doing much better but still has a ways to go. Flower

We're always welcoming  festivarians from other countries. We love to share our fun with everyone. Thumbs Up
I'll be looking for updates from you as to when you'll arrive and whether you've found the passes you want.
It's been a long time since I was down under and I'd love to get back there, but it's doubtful I can afford to.
We'll raise a cup of beer together when you get there. Cheers
