Am listening to some of the recordings of Yonder from TBF, McCoury is a very impressive mandolin player. I Know you Rider is quite a song.

Ronnie's one of the best in the world. Jeff brought an energy to Yonder that no one else can, because it was uniquely Jeff. And his songwriting was a huge asset for the band, but Ronnie is simply a better mandolin player. I thought this year's main stage set was one of their best in recent years.

I know that Ronnie won't become a permanent member of the band, but I thoroughly enjoyed him playing with the band.

I had several opportunities to stand very close to Ronnie McCoury when he was playing at DelFest, and the guy is unbelievable. The fingers of his left hand are literally a blur, and yet his tone is so sweet.

I listened to (and taped) the YMSB set from TBF on KOTO as it happened, and it was just fantastic. Jason Carter is also just tops.
