I was in Lyons yesterday and the town is looking good. Meadow park is still in need if serious work. It looks like no access to the bath house playground or river. I am curious if there will be access by festival time or if PB will allow people on the festival grounds during the week to get in the river. I'm counting down the days!!!!

The baseball field is in perfect shape! But all the way around the field is a fence that cuts off all river acess and the bath house.

Look Folks, let's get real. There is ALL KINDS of stuff in that river that you DO NOT want to dance with anytime soon.

Don't count on getting in the river... at all.

Lyons, CO had a MAJOR natural disaster.

Great point about water quality.  Still plenty of property damage upstream.  Who knows what's in it?  And this has been a somewhat wet summer thus far.   Not being negative,  just safe. Wonder if the state will test the water just before Rockygrass.

Probably not so much about chemicals and such, although that's enough to worry about, but I am thinking about submerged, unseen things like planks with exposed nails, broken metal tubes from lawn furniture, god only knows about broken glass - lots of non-visible hazards in the St. Vrain, I imagine.

At the most, maybe (and a big maybe at that) wading around off the bank a little where you can see what you're stepping on or into might be OK, but as far as tubing goes, man, I gotta think that isn't a real good idea this time around . . .

To quote a local... "Hope, they found barbed wire in the river. Probably a lot more where that came from." I'm not saying this is in the river next to PBR, just saying be very careful out there folks. As the saying goes, better safe than sorry.

Why take a risk? Go lick a trash can LOL its safer Medal Cars, trees and houses and other living things have been stirred together for one yummy cocktail. Give mother nature time to heal the river she will in time be free of debris. But for me, I never did want to swim with a fridge LOL No guess I am NOT a risk taker and I always wonder when I see footage of a bungie jump, now why would you throw a perfectly healthy body over a bridge? No respect for life. How lucky to just be here and to risk it for a thrill seems loquacious with life. Stay safe and watchful for now.

I wonder if it'll be safe to sit in the river at the ranch and watch/listen to the music?  That was one of my favorite parts of RockyGrass, especially on hot days.

The town has been working hard to get the park ready for Festivarians, but the restoration along the river has not been completed.

There is a large fence along the perimeter of the park and there is absolutely no access to the river from Meadow Park.

Will we be able to acces the river via the new campground or the festival grounds during the week?
