What a great thread idea!

One of my recent favorites is Old Man Luedecke from Eastern Canada.  Chris Luedecke is a solo banjo troubadour, very much in the vein of Pete Seeger.  Tim O'Brien produced his most recent record, the wonderful "Tender Is the Night" (though that record's production is much more than just solo banjo).
