SCI tour dates are open TBF weekend. Will they make the lineup???

I'd vote for that!

I'd be more than open to that! So so so so so bummed I missed them here last year, it's very unlikely they would do the event again, but who knows! I know I'd be tickled pink if so. They wont be releasing anymore dates until they get back from Mexico, so only another few weeks.
I'm happy as hell they are at Delfest this year Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

I'd be absolutely shocked if they played again this year. I'd love to see them at TBF again, but something tells me that won't be happening for a few more years. I hope I'm wrong, though.

One of the most wonderful aspects of TBF is the new musicians and groups to whom that I have been exposed. When I first heard Railroad Earth at TBF I was blown away and have become a huge fan of theirs. Well they were at HOB in Boston and they were amazing. The songs are getting deeper and the musicianship is at a virtuoso level. Please bring them back.

I feel the same way, Barry, & have been hoping & checking this forum everyday....but it's not looking very good for RRE at TBF this year. They were just announced to play Sat. June 21 at 4 Peaks Music Fest in Bend, OR. Maybe they'd still play a set on Thursday?....including a NightGrass set?

It's a good thing there'll be 1 or 2 other good bands playing.....*sarcasm intended*

I'd definitely be up for a return of RRE.  In fact, I'd be into seeing them become a regular or semi-regular ... too bad they apparently haven't made it into the same level of favor with PB as M&S.

I really, really hope that RRE is amongst the as-yet-unnamed artists to grace the stage this June. I guess it is too late in the cycle for a few message board posts to spur a conversation between Planet Bluegrass and RRE, but maybe if I post with extra feeling and passion, it will help the cosmic tumblers to fall into place.

For anyone who has not listened to RRE's new album, it is excellent! The lyrics, as usual, are very special...some of the best writing of any band going...not just bluegrass. Please, please, please book them for this year.

Thanks for putting on such a special festival each year!

The new RRE album is great. I thought their last couple weren't as memorable as some earlier ones, and I think the new one will be. I'd love to see them play the fest again. And during the day! I don't always make it till the late shows, and last time RRE was there they played the late show and some friends who went weren't happy; they like RRE and thought they were way too mellow to keep people dancing for the late show. I did see Leftover last year do the late show, and they made it impossible to not keep moving!
If not this year, I'm sure RRE will be back.

Yeah, their town park set wasn't nearly as energetic nor face melting as the late night show at the SOH ... which was definitely memorable!   In a similar light, String Cheese Incident's main stage show was also dumbed down a bit as well in terms of perhaps not extending upon things or taking as many chances.   I think there's a tendency for such bands to conform to "accessibility" moreso, in a one set festival setting.

That's a bit of an understatement re: RRE's last town park set.  It was sleep-inducing.  That was a band I was really looking forward to in 2011, but that set pretty much ruined them for me.

I think "mailed it in" is the phrase others were using at the time.

Hey Ferg--

Pleading to you from the center of the Polar Vortex here in Minneapolis; apparently Mother Nature is partying with Old man Winter and passed out!  -11 this morning and it's almost March!!!

Introduce some warmth into our day with an addition to the lineup! Some sign that June will actually arrive!
