As the next festival approaches and we begin to plan for our trip to Telluride, we have tossed around the idea of planning a curry party in the Town Park camping area. We really enjoyed the daily events leading up to the music and wanted to contribute to the festivities by cooking some delicious food in the form of coconut curry! I have an affinity for velvety coconut milk combined with flavorful curry spices and want to share them with all who want to enjoy. Our curry offerings are some of our most popular items we sell from our food business called Shiitake Swerve food truck and we want to spread the love. I want to reach out to all of the old schoolers and newbies alike to see if we can count on some people to contribute in the production and service of the food and event. I can organize all of the cooking duties, but I want to see if we can get some people, cookware and cooking equipment lined up for the gathering. With proper planning and the availability of the right gear, we can feed the whole camp! I will start a list and add items if they come to light. Please let us know if you can contribute or know someone who can. We would bring all of the gear but we are coming from Texas! I will take care of all the curry spices! Please help where you can! See y'all in June!!! No worries for all who don't like spicy. We will have a curry without the heat, but still full of flavor!
Items needed to make it happen:
1. 4 large cooking vessels with lids preferably 3-5 gallons
2. 2-4 cook stoves similar to the ones used for crawfish boils or turkey frying
3. multiple people willing to cook rice/quinoa/noodles at their campsite for the gathering
4. 4-6 people willing to help set up and prep food for the gathering
5. lots of delicious IPA beer to match the robust flavors of curry!
6. a variety of ingredients for the curry itself, let me know if you live in CO and can commit to bringing fresh vegetables
7. gallons and gallons of coconut milk(I can help you find the large cans if you let me know where you live)
8. positive attitudes that better the planning and development phase of this 1st annual TP curry gathering.
