It's pretty obvious this band won over a lot of people.  Curious as to what you liked about them, what influences you heard, what dynamics you noticed.  Discuss and tangent, plz.

It's Lake Street Dive, to start with, but beyond that there's a lot of cool jazz singer/soul (like, Motown-influenced soul) to that band. They're definitely not a bluegrass band, but I think people were drawn to their playful nature and solid musicianship -- really strong female vocals, great rhythm section, good energy.

Plus, they played a million sets that weekend, so they got a lot of exposure. I think they played Firstgrass, main stage, Elks Park, and Nightgrass, if I'm not mistaken.

Here are a couple of videos:
"Bad Self Portraits" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v8tjJWvH8XU
"Got Me Fooled" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kELt1iqHwfY
"Let Me Roll It" (Wings cover) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8TSz67LPs5U
"I Want You Back" (Jackson 5 cover) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6EPwRdVg5Ug

Another video to check out. A great find for me at this year's TBF.

They played Nightgrass at Fly Me to the Moon Saloon. It was amazing!

I definitely agree on the soulful sound. Plus, great energy and connection/responsiveness to fans! I sent them a message on FB asking for a setlist and they responded back within a couple of weeks!

Saw the video of them on Colbert and saw them for the first time at The Festy last year. Super super soulful vocalist and very catchy songs. I wouldn't mind seeing them again that's for sure! Looking forward to hearing there new album and seeing if it's comparable to them live. Nothing too technical or mind blowing, but I like the groove they bring Thumbs Up

Excellent musicianship and vocals, very tight. Seen them a couple times at the Festy now, and although they aren't exactly my favorite type of music, I've really enjoyed their sets.
