Folks,
Can someone point me to a good reference where I can learn to work with FLAC files with Itunes and Windows 7? I'm OK with the files on the Internet Archive, but have little experience with the FLAC format.

Try downloading two free programs from download.com.  The first is utorrent, the second Format Factory.

When you click on a torrent on bt or cotapers or wherever, tell your computer to have it opened by utorrent.  That program will download the files to the folder of your choice.

If you want to keep those files as flacs, you're done.  But if you want to make CDs or get them loaded onto your ipod, Format Factory can convert them for you.  Open FF and open "options".  There you can tell the program where you want your MP3's stored (I keep mine in the same folder that they downloaded to).  Next click on "all to mp3" and "Output setting"  There you can increase the bit rate to, say, 256 for better quality.  You can then label that setting as "custom".  Go back to the front page and hit "All to Custom" whcih has magically appeared.  On the bottom right, click "add folder", then browse to find  your file.  Hit the next 3 "OK"s and you'll be back at the front page.  Hit "start" and in about 5 minutes your files will be converted.

There are hundreds of ways to get your torrents open - this is just the way that I figured out.  Hope it workd for you!

Big Thank You to Ricky Skaggs for uploading the Masters of Bluegrass concert.  I was there that night and had to move from our spot so I could get away from the cocktail party next to us.  When I went up front, it was just the same chatting and I couldn't really hear the music and stories.  So, I went back and got my stuff and went back to the condo and listened to it on the radio.  Very good decision.  I am happy to get the chance to hear the parts I missed at the beginning and while I was walking back to the condo.  You can hear the chatting in the background of the tape, as well.

Thanks! It's about time that show made its way to archive. Now if only last year's show would find its way there.

For those that want to search periodically for newly uploaded shows at TBF, as well as prior years' content, these are three main (although not the exclusive sources) that you can run on your own. I've included the search criteria in the links:

http://bt.cotapers.org/torrents.php?searchstr=&searchtags=&tags_type=0&order_by=s3&order_way=desc&disablegrouping=1

http://bt.etree.org/?searchsss=telluride&cat=0
