Anyone else find it odd that the Dawg hasn't been at festival since 2002? Did he have a falling out with PB or something? I knew it had been a while, but this blows my mind.

Pure speculation but it may have something to do with the altitude. Don't see any tour dates (even in high country states) that have much elevation.

He was the co-headliner along with Sam Bush at Pickin In The Pines in Flagstaff two years ago.  That's roughly 7,500ft.

Telluride Bluegrass is a semi-conflict with the annual Mandolin Symposium in hometown Santa Cruz, CA which begins either the Sunday or Monday of or after the festival.

It's a course of action we've thought about for our son and certainly we wouldn't do both the festival immediately followed by that.

Didn't prevent Mike Marshall from appearing on the main stage last year though...It's not a complete conflict.

Saw him in Tucson at the Fox last Saturday.  He seemed like a happy camper.

The Dawg has no prob with the Planet as he was at the last 2 RockyGrass Festivals in Lyons, along with his son Sam Grisman who plays bass for the Deadly Gentlemen.
